It seems like hell will freeze over as the company that mainly does Pokémon games has put them second in their line of priorities. As per Game Freak, they are always trying to do something more exciting than Pokémon, and they hope their mysterious “Gear project” will be the thing that dethrones the little critters. We sincerely doubt that in the wake of the success of the recent Detective Pikachu movie but we remain cautiously optimistic.

On a side note, a THQ conference recently revealed a slew of upcoming games, one of which was Dead Island 2 with the official statement being: “Dead Island 2, still being worked on. Stay tuned.”
