Sonic Trailer Raises a Storm

New Sonic, who dis?

When we heard that a new Sonic movie was in the works, instead of being excited – we were worried. Our worst fears became a reality when we saw the first trailer showcasing the blue hedgehog. It’s good to know that we weren’t alone as the internet flew in a fit of rage due to the creepy, semi-realistic Sonic design. Plenty of fans went and submitted their own designs and angry YouTube videos raged on everyone’s home feed. Luckily, all the negative feedback bore fruit and the producers of the movie decided to delay and fix the movie so it can be the Sonic movie everyone wanted. Yay internet!

New Earthworm Jim game

Hello Earthworm Jim, my old friend.

After 20 years of waiting, the lovable Earthworm Jim franchise is getting a new game! If you weren’t around for when Jim jumped across our TV’s, he’s your run of the mill Earthworm named Jim that uses a robotic suit to fight evil and save Princess What’s-Her-Name.  After a successful run in two dimensions, Jim was ultimately killed by his transition to 3D so we can’t wait to see what they have in store from him now. A second shot at 3D or the return to the sidescrolling, 2D format? For more information, be sure to check out our full coverage.

Valve VR device

That is one sleek and expensive device.

The VR market is about to get a whole lot busier. While many companies tried their hand at creating VR devices, it’s still widely considered that HTC and Oculus run the show. Well, not for long as Valve is about to launch its Index VR device boasting some impressive specs. It comes in three, differently priced options depending on if you want the headset alone or if you want to supplement it with controllers and additional sensors. For more technical details and the price, check our full coverage on Index VR.

Game of Thrones Season 8 Night King

I smile because I have no personality.

The insanely popular Game of Thrones is in the middle of its final season and the expectations are soaring high. The third episode, in particular, with its depiction of the war against the Night King was extremely divisive for the fandom. While some thought the episode was a masterpiece that delivered the unexpected, others felt like the show and its characters were extremely dumbed down for the sake of visual spectacle. With only two episodes of the show left, many feel like the build-up of 7 previous seasons was for naught and that there’s little hope for redemption at this point. We’ll just have to wait and see.
