In what is probably the biggest announcements of last week and perhaps the whole year is the announcement of Google Stadia. A gaming streaming service often hailed as Netflix for games. The main boasting point of the new system is the fact that you’ll only need a speedy and stable internet connection to play AAA games without paying any thought to system requirements. CD Projekt Red plans to ship two AAA titles by 2021.

Yes, one of those games is the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077, but the other game – we know next to nothing about except the fact is that it’s full-blown AAA RPG game. The information comes from CD Projekt Red’s blog post where they even addressed concerns that Cyberpunk would cannibalize the other game, lowering its quality. Yes, by now, we all know Apex is wildly successful but it’s good to put some numbers behind those words. February saw Fortnite and Apex clash over earnings with Fortnite winning out by the skin of its teeth. It remains to be seen if this will this change now that Apex rolled out its first season. What is certain is that this narrow competition is most favorable for gamers, no matter which game ultimately comes out on top.
