Throughout gaming history, last year comes off outstanding for its soaring demands, which was met with insufficient stocks. Due to the strong effect of the pandemic, the industry saw a shortage in important hardware globally, hampering the numbers of units produced to meet demand.
An effect that remains felt to this day, both Microsoft and Sony are active in filling the gap through subsequent productions. Every time of which sees great anticipations causing them to run out as soon as they become available. Partly, due to scalpers who are leveraging the situation to make a profit.
But if Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO, Jim Ryan, is to be heard, things will get better across the year for the consumers. That is, citing the positive prospect of the world returning to its balance when it comes to its supply chains.
Were you one of the unfortunate ones who was not be able to get your hands on a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S? Now is probably the best time to change that.
