Have you played through Insomniac’s Spider-Man for the 15th time? Have you finished all of the games DLC? Can’t wait for the inevitable sequel to one of 2018’s most critically acclaimed games and are hungry for more? While a sequel to Marvel’s Spider-Man is still ways off, Marvel still has something that will satisfy your craving for more of the PlayStation version of the web-swinger. Announced this week, a new Spider-Man comic-book series will continue where the game left off.

Spider-Man: Velocity will be written by Dennis “Hopeless” Hallum, who is currently writing the comic adaptation of the PS4 game (titled “City at War”), with art from Emilio Laiso (Star Wars: Doctor Aphra) and cover art by Skan. The official description reads as followed:

“Spidey continues to balance his colliding worlds as he attempts to protect New York City against Super Villains like Swarm, while reporter Mary Jane Watson delves deep into an investigation with legendary Daily Bugle journalist Ben Urich. Learn the never-before-told backstory behind the Velocity Suit as unexplainable occurrences bedevil the city and our heroes come face-to-face with…a poltergeist?!”

The Velocity Suit was designed by artist Adi Granov (Iron Man: Extremis) and was one of several original outfits to appear in the PS4 game. You’ll have to read the series to find out how Spider-Man officially gets this suit. Spider-Man: Velocity will hit comic shops sometime in August.

Marvel’s Spider-Man was released exclusively on PS4 on September 7th, 2018. The game won numerous awards from various outlets, including best action and console game from the 2018 Game Awards.
