It’s that time of the year again, and Ubisoft has just unveiled a multitude of upcoming projects during their Ubisoft Forward: Official Livestream. Whilst many upcoming games have been revealed, some notable titles are Skull and Bones and Tom Clancy’s The Division: Heartland, a particular announcement may just stick out from the rest. This is none other than a future installment to the Assassin’s Creed franchise, which will take the series to the highly requested setting of Japan. Here is everything you need to know.
ASSASSIN’S CREED CODENAME RED SET IN JAPAN
This new teaser trailer reveals Assassin’s Creed Codename Red set in feudal Japan, putting many fans at ease knowing that this highly requested historical period is now being explored within the popular action-adventure video game series. Not much information is provided, but this short snippet of cinematic footage shows a Shinobi unsheathing their hidden blade atop a pitched roof.
Ubisoft also revealed an open-world action RPG Assassin’s Creed game coming to mobile devices, which takes the series back to the setting of China. But that’s not all. Assassin’s Creed Mirage has also been announced, exploring the stealth-orientated combat of the early games and serving as a prequel to 2020’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Though these recent announcements may be exciting for most, there is still more information yet to come.
