2021 is losing a high-profile game. Ubisoft has delayed Rainbow 6 Extraction until 2022. This is the second time that the developers have delayed the game. In addition, Riders Republic, an Ubisoft original title, has had its launch moved back from September 2 to October 28.

Ubisoft Has Delayed Rainbow 6 Extraction Again

This Fall is shaping up to be an exciting time for gamers with titles such as Halo Infinite and Battlefield 2042 coming before the end of the year. Unfortunately, not every game scheduled for 2021 is going to make its release date. Ubisoft has delayed Rainbow 6 Extraction until 2022. In addition, Riders Republic is being pushed back to October 28.

Formerly known as Rainbow 6 Quarantine, this isn’t the first time that the tactical shooter has faced a delay. Ubisoft originally planned to launch the game in 2020. Like many other projects, the global pandemic forced the developers to move back its release date. The title is now slated to launch in January of 2022. This latest postponement will definitely be a blow to fans of the series.

The game is set to feature an emphasis on co-op gameplay this time around. Players will squad up in teams of 3 to fight against a deadly alien threat. 18 different operators are available to play in the series’ next installment as well. In addition, each of the 12 maps feature procedurally generated elements to help keep the action from growing repetitive.

Sadly, the delays don’t stop there. Riders Republic, another Ubisoft title, has been delayed from September 2 to October 28. A thrill seeker’s delight, this game gives players the freedom to attempt daring stunts that they might be too afraid to try in real life. From snowboarding down icy slopes to gliding across canyons in wingsuits, it provides a wide variety of activities to enjoy. While the game has received a slight delay, fans eager to play the game have the opportunity to participate in a closed beta preceding launch.

Fans of Ubisoft games have had to deal with a lot of delays over the past couple years. Games such as Watch Dogs: Legion and Immortals: Fenyx Rising were delayed before finally launching, while Far Cry 6 was originally scheduled to release in February of 2021. It will be interesting to see if these most recent postponements impact the sales of the company’s upcoming games.
