After several delays, the dictator simulator Tropico 6 has finally received a console release date. The game was originally set to release this Summer but has been pushed back to September 27th, 2019.
Tropico 6 puts you in the role of El Presidente, the dictatorial leader of a small Caribbean archipelago. As a construction & management game, you’ll have to build up your islands infrastructure, form relationships—good or bad—with other countries and deal with ruthless efficiency any attempts at an uprising against your tyrannical rule.
PC gamers have been able to enjoy the latest instalment in the Tropico series since March & Xbox users currently have access to a free trial of the console version, although this is a preview version and not representative of the final game’s quality. The Tropico games have always provided an enjoyable power fantasy and I look forward to getting my hands on this one.
If you’re ready to take on the mantel of El Presidente, then you don’t have long to wait. Tropico 6 is coming to Xbox One and PS4, and is currently available for PC. The console version is available to pre-order for £39.99.
