Alone in the Dark
A reimagining of the 1992 original, Alone in the Dark puts players in the shoes of Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood. The short trailer teases a spooky southern mansion, complete with creepy monsters and unsettling imagery.
Details remain scarce, but in a blog published by THQ Nordic’s Liz Pieri, the game incorporates concepts and characters from the original trilogy. The game’s development team includes luminaries like Mikael Hedberg, writer of Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and creature designer Guy Davis.

Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed
In two weeks, the remake of the second entry in the Destroy All Humans series comes out. The new trailer provides an extended look at the game’s villains, the Blisk. Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed is shaping up to be a stellar remake of the original sequel.

Space for Sale
Have you ever wanted to own a galaxy? Space for Sale may scratch that itch. Developed by Mirage Game Studios, Space for Sale puts you in the shoes of a property developer who buys a galaxy. Players explore planets, build properties, and ensure the inhabitants are satisfied.
Space for Sale features a procedurally generated landscape, meaning no two planets are the same. Plus, the game supports drop-in/drop-out multiplayer.
Space for Sale is coming to PC.
Gothic 1 Remake
A remake of the 90’s RPG, Gothic receives a new trailer showing how the game has been reimagined. The trailer takes players on a fly-by through a mining community, showcasing the remake’s updated visuals.
Information remains scarce. In 2019, THQ Nordic released a playable teaser showing what a modernized Gothic would look like. Gothic 1 Remake is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S, and PC.
Jagged Alliance 3
The president of Grand Chien is missing, and the country is thrown into chaos. Jagged Alliance 3 is a strategy game and lets you create and manage a squad of mercenaries. The trailer shows off the tactical strategy gameplay and customization options.
Developed by Haeminot Games, Jagged Alliance 3 is the first new entry in over 14 years. The game is coming to PC.
The Valiant
Set during the 5th century, The Valiant lets you control an army of Crusaders as they try to reclaim missing artifacts. The trailer shows off the game’s RTS combat and co-op mode. At any time, a second player can join and help you take on the rival factions.
The Valiant is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Tempest Rising
Developed by Slipgate Ironworks and 3D Realms, Tempest Rising is a military based RTS. Set in the aftermath of a nuclear war, the player picks from one of three factions and fights through territories to gather resources. Gamers will be able to get a taste of Tempest Rising at Gamescom later this month.
Tempest Rising is coming to PC.
Knights of Honor II: Sovereign
In the vein of titles like Age of Empires and Civilization, Knights of Honor II: Sovereign lets you build your own medieval kingdom. The gameplay trailer shows how you can appoint marshals and clerics to run your empire and forge alliances with other nations.

Outcast 2: A New Beginning
Outcast 2: A New Beginning is the decade’s later sequel to the 90’s PC game Outcast. The trailer shows off protagonist Cutter Slade’s various weapons and abilities. He uses his jetpack and wingsuit to fly over the alien planet of Adelpha. During combat, Slade can dash to evade enemy fire and dive into enemies.
Outcast 2: A New Beginning doesn’t have a release date, but it is slated for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S, and PC.
Wreckreation
Wreckreation is an open-world racer from developer Three Fields Entertainment. What makes Wreckreation unique is its track-making features. Players can build their own tracks and share them with users. Wreckreation is spearheaded by Fiona Sperry and Alex Ward, better known as the creators of Burnout.
Wreckreation is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Way of the Hunter
The hunting sim receives a final trailer showing off the gameplay and story. Players take control of a hunting lodge owner trying to keep his business afloat. The trailer also shows off the vast environments and animals players will hunt.
Way of the Hunter releases August 16 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S, and PC.
AEW: Fight Forever
Wrestling fans have plenty to be excited about as the first trailer for AEW: Fight Forever made its premiere. Developed by Yuke’s, the trailer shows off Fight Forever’s wrestling gameplay, plus various minigames you and your friends can play. No release date has been announced, but the game will be playable at Gamescom 2022.

Stuntfest: World Tour
The upcoming racer receives a new trailer showing off the racing and ejector mechanic. At the press of a button, the driver can be launched into the air and bounced off obstacles before shifting back into their vehicle. This weekend, players will be able to play the game themselves via a closed beta.
Stuntfest: World Tour is coming to PC later this year.
SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake
Updates on the upcoming platformer have been minimal since its initial reveal, but a new trailer provides a better glimpse. SpongeBob, guided by his best friend Patrick, traverses various realities including a martials arts world and a wild west world. The trailer also shows some new features like a gliding mechanic and the ability to roll on large items.
No release date has been revealed, but the game is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Untitled South Park Game
At the tail end of the conference, THQ Nordic teased a South Park game is in the works. No other details are known, other than its being developed in conjunction with the show’s studio.
Summary
THQ Nordic’s conference was solid. The event highlights how diverse their line-up is. Strategy game fans have a lot to look forward to with games like Tempest Rising. Open-world fans have the impending Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed. THQ Nordic has 46 games in development, 25 of which have been revealed, so who knows what surprises lie in store.
