The Wolf Among Us 2 Is Back On Track

The Wolf Among Us season 2 is on its way, after being announced at the Game Awards. This welcome news comes after the game's development was halted by the closure of Telltale Games in 2018. AdHoc, a studio formed by former Telltale employees, is developing the game.

The Wolf Among Us season 2 confirmed at 2019 game awards

The Wolf Among Us 2 is back in development, after a long hiatus following the shut-down of Telltale studios.

The second season to Telltale’s excellent adaptation of the Fables graphic novels has finally restarted development. The game is being developed by AdHoc Studios, which retains some members of the original Telltale team. The developer is working with LCG Entertainment, who purchased the rights to the Telltale brand earlier this year. LCG boss, Jamie Ottilie is well aware of how well-loved the first season is, not to mention the graphic novels. He’s adamant that the second season will deliver everything that fans expect and will help reestablish the new Telltale.

The Wolf Among Us is one of the most popular titles in the Telltale catalogue, so we are thrilled to announce that development on Wolf 2 has again started and assure all of the series’ fans that it is in good hands. Partnering with AdHoc Studio enables us to work with many of the key creative and development talents from the original Wolf series while strategically growing the new Telltale.

LCG appears to be taking a very proactive stance on its partnership with AdHoc. Their inclusion means that the second series will retain many of the talented people behind the original, including Adam Harrington and Erin Yvette, who voiced Bigby Wolf and Snow White, respectively. The game was announced at the 2019 Game Awards, accompanied by a teaser trailer. There is no release date, but the trailer confirms that the game will keep its neon-noir style.

The closure of Telltale Games was one of the more sombre events in recent gaming history. Hopefully, with AdHoc Studios and LCG Entertainment working together, there is a bright future for the episodic adventure game genre.

If you haven’t played The Wolf Among Us, I couldn’t recommend it enough. It’s a fabulously well-weaved narrative, and you can pick it up on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
