The Trailer for Stranger Things Season 4 Part 2 has Dropped

The trailer for Stranger Things Season 4 Part 2 has arrived, rocking a dramatic rendition of Kate Bush’s ‘Running up that Hill’. We get a peak into the coming finale of Stranger Things Season 4, with part 2 concluding the seasons arcs with the fight against Vecna. The ending of this season will take place over two episodes being released on 1st July.. Episode 8 will be 85 minutes and Episode 9 is approximately a whopping 2 hours 30 minutes according to Tudum, a Netflix fan site.

What Does the Trailer Reveal?

The trailer for Stranger Things Season 4 Part 2 offers us a few insights into the show’s upcoming finale. There are some exciting moments being telegraphed as the trailer portrays the hopelessness of the cause through the trailers narration, contrasted with our heroes actions. Here’s what we can guess about the battle with Vecna and the coming episodes from the trailer.

In America

We get the standard team shots of the crew heading into battle, with the team splitting up it seems. The older teens return to the upside down, and Max, Lucas and Erica going to the Creel house. The California Crew aim to join and support El in her struggles. We see Lucas fight with Jason, the basketball captain leading a mob after Eddie. Lucas is firmly back with our protagonists, helping to combat the hunt for the eccentric metal head.

Nancy returns from the Upside Down, but not before facing Vecna. The trailer suggests this takes place in a memory of the massacre at Hawkins Laboratory. She looks to have been affected by what she saw there. Perhaps she was able to learn more about the alternate dimension. Vecna is the only character from there with the ability to talk and so is the best character for an info dump. Personally I hope this will be another of the predictions made here that will come true.

The power of music may once again save our protagonists. Eddie looks to deliver a guitar solo for the ages, shredding a guitar atop a trailer in the Upside Down. It will certainly be an epic moment for Stranger Things Season 4 Part 2 as it is, in my opinion, the coolest shot of the trailer. We know that music can help break victims away from Vecna’s curse. Thus it makes sense that music will play a further role in his defeat. Although it could just be a distraction. El will also enter Vecna’s layer to do battle. Lastly we see Will Byers talk with Mike about somethings plan to take everyone. This may signal the Mindflayer playing a larger role. Speaking of which…

In Russia

There’s less to work with on the Russian side of the Stranger Things Season 4 Part 2 trailer. However we see Joyce, Enzo, Hopper and Murray looking at living smoke, trapped, presumably, in a Russian Compound. It’s possible they managed to trap part of the Mindflayer in our world. This may connect with what appears to be The Upside Down penetrating into our reality. This judging from a brief shot of red lightening over a park. They seem to be in for a lot gunfights with Russians, Demadogs and Demagorgans. Fortunately we see Murray wielding Yuri’s flamethrower with delight so at least they have some effect weapons.

A fifth season has been greenlit and so will likely wrap up the Mindflayers role there. That being said, the creators have shown interest in making a wider media universe for Stranger Things, so perhaps we won’t be seeing the end of the Upside Down and the monsters therein.
