The Outer Worlds is Coming to Nintendo Switch

Obsidian Entertainment has partnered with Virtuos to bring The Outer Worlds to the Nintendo Switch. The announcement was made today on Nintendo’s official Twitter page.

Virtuos is a video game developer out of Singapore who has handled several remasters and ports including titles such as Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, and the Switch version of Dark Souls Remastered.

The sci-fi RPG was originally set to release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One but the game will now have a version for the hybrid console. Senior Producer Matthew Singh stated that the Switch version would release “following the launch of the other platforms”.

There have been other AAA titles ported over to the Nintendo Switch in the past, but those games have generally undergone several technical downgrades in order for it to run on the console. It is unclear what performance tweaks will have to be made to The Outer Worlds and how impactful those adjustments will be to the overall experience.

The Outer Worlds will release first on October 25, 2019 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Make sure to check out our preview to see what we thought of the game.
