The Outer Worlds 2 Announced for Xbox Series X/S and PC

Existence of The Outer Worlds 2 has at last been officially confirmed. A sequel to Obsidian Entertainment's hit 2019 spacefaring RPG, players got a sneak peek at what we'll be seeing from this follow-up coming to Xbox and PC, which will also be a day-one addition to Game Pass.

The Outer Worlds 2 Announced for Xbox Series X/S and PC cover

The Outer Worlds 2 was a surprise at E3’s Xbox and Bethesda Showcase to be sure, but a welcome one. With nothing even close to a release date yet, all we have to go on so far is a very self-aware teaser trailer. With Obsidian Entertainment’s on-brand humour, The Outer Worlds 2 trailer acknowledges that all it really has to offer are the clichés that typically come with teaser trailers. Nevertheless, we can take comfort in knowing that more is on the way.

At the game’s page on the Obsidian website, you’ll just be met with a link to the trailer below (for now). On the video, Obsidian simply hints with the following:

New star system. New crew. Same Outer Worlds.

Critics and players alike fell in love with the original Outer Worlds, with some of us among them. Back in 2019, my colleague, David Lozada, gave the game a 9 out of 10 in his The Outer Worlds review

The Outer Worlds 2 was but one of the many huge announcements at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase. The event kicked off with a confirmed Starfield release date. Another was Sea of Thieves getting a Pirates of the Caribbean crossover event, featuring Captain Jack Sparrow himself.
