The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 was one of the most anticipated games of 2022. However, it has just been announced that the game has been delayed to Spring 2023. The announcement was made in a statement by Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma in a video. Breath of the Wild 2 was originally announced in June 2019 with a trailer.

The video, with a length time of a minute-and-a-half, reveals that the team behind the Breath of the Wild sequel decided to extend development time to continue working on the game. Eiji Aonuma apologized for the delay and any disappointment from fans. The video also showed some footage of what to expect in Breath of the Wild 2. As previously revealed, the sequel will expand on the already-huge world of the first game, both on the ground and up into the sky. There will also be new gameplay and encounters to experience.

Launch Timing Update for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sequel

Delays in the games industry is not uncommon. The release date of new games getting pushed back unfortunately happens. This is usually because the developers need more time to work on the game, or because of setbacks. Breath of the Wild 2 is just the latest new title to get delayed. However, it’s encouraging to know that the developers are working hard on the game. Also, we get a little look at what to expect when the game eventually comes out. The footage certainly looks very promising, and seems to expand on an already-great game. Hopefully, this will be the only major delay that Breath of the Wild 2 gets.

Before its release, we can expect to see more gameplay footage and learn more about the story and any new features. We’ll also find out what the real name of the sequel will be called, since Breath of the Wild 2 is currently a placeholder. The sequel’s real title was withheld because it apparently revealed too much about the game’s plot.
