The Last Guardian has been confirmed to meet its latest release announcement on December 6 of this year. The release announcement is great enough, and Sony has also announced how customers can acquire the original soundtrack for themselves through a variety of formats, one of which being a vinyl cover of the game's soundtrack; expected to become available sometime in December, but no specific release date or price for this version has been said by Sony at this time.
The announcement was made on Sony's official blog, and allows The Last Guardian composer Takeshi Furukawa to talk about his experience working with The London Orchestra, Trinity Boys Choir, and London Voices at Air Studios.
"The reason why I chose Air Studios was for its acoustics. Very lush and gorgeous sound, and for the London Symphony, I mean, It's one of the best orchestras in the world. I would definitely say that the high point was stepping in front of the orchestra, and having that first note played. It doesn't get better than that."
The records are being produced by iam8bit, and can be pre-ordered from their store for $35, with an expected delivery being early 2017. The tri-fold design's cover art is illustrated by Nimit Malavia.
For those who want digital versions of the soundtrack, The Last GuardianComposer’s Choice PS4 Music App of the OST will be made available alongside the game's release, with an iTunes version becoming available at a later date.
