After WB Montreal spent days hyping their fans up with cryptic teasers, we finally got our payoff. During the first day of the DC FanDome, the Gotham Knights trailer finally dropped. The game looks like it’ll be an optional coop experience featuring four members of the Bat-Family in a seemingly open world. These characters will be Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing and the Red Hood himself. It’s a bold move to steer away from a playable Batman, but it looks like this game is tackling new fronts on all sides. The coop route is definitely a surprise, but one we are definitely excited about.

Aside from the big reveal trailer, we also got some gameplay footage of a pre-alpha version of the game with creative director Patrick Redding commentating. It seems that the game will feature several supervillains from the caped crusader’s universe, each with their own questline (in this case, Mr. Freeze). We can also expect every character to have a very distinct progression system, focusing on their specific skill set. They had definitely teased the involvement of the Court of Owls, a secretive criminal organization from the Batman comics.
Aside from Gotham Knights we know Rocksteady’s new game, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, will also be getting a DC FanDome reveal. It’s a great time to be a DC fan in general, and especially if you’ve been waiting on the edge of your seat since Batman: Arkham Knight.
Let us know what you think about the Gotham Knights trailer, as well as the first gameplay showcase! Who will you be maining, Red Hood or Nightwing? Will you go solo a-la Batman, or patrol the streets of Gotham with your friends?
