Stardew Valley pushed its 1.5 update live, making it the biggest to date for the indie game. PC players can enjoy all of the new features, while console and mobile gamers will have to wait a little longer into the new year to experience things like new quests and farm layouts.
New Game Options
Whether you are a veteran who is starting up a new farm or a newcomer, you have some new options when creating your character and selecting your environment.
Beach Farm is a new farm, bringing new opportunities and challenges for players. On the positive side, you have plenty of fish to catch and spots to forage. Plus, you can get rare supply crates that will occasionally drift onto the shore.
Now onto the negatives. If it were not clear by the name, you would have sand to contend with as your main soil, making sprinklers useless as it gets clogged up. That’s why in the patch notes, it is not advised for new farmers to choose this one as it might be too hard for someone not too experienced.
New advanced options let you mix up the Community Center Bundles, monster spawns, and mine rewards.
Finally, you do get some more hair options when customizing your cute little farmer.
Some instructions are given to play with a friend or family member locally. From Robin, you must build a cabin that has room for up to three people. From there, select “start local co-op” in your menu. Now you can have people join in for some fun couch-styled gameplay.
Popular modders already got a taste of the new content. That means some of the most well-known mods have been updated, so make sure if you play with mods that you check out if your favorites have been updated already.
