The Army of Darkness Return in Newest Update For Evil Dead: The Game

The Army of Darkness Returns! Evil Dead: The Game gets major update that unleashes a new battleground to slay Deadites, a new single player experience for the explorer in you and some new threads for both survivor and demon players.

The Army of Darkness Return in Newest Update for evil dead the gameSaber Interactive’s Evil Dead: The Game gets its first big update after releasing back in May with mostly positive reviews on all platforms. The Major update is titled after the third (and most groovy) of the three Evil Dead films, Army of Darkness and brings forth a new map, weapons, premium outfits and game mode.

For those that are unfamiliar, Evil Dead: The Game is a cooperative PvE/PvP multiplayer action game that pits survivors from the Evil Dead franchise with the task of defeating the Kandarian demon. The main objective for survivor players is to seal the demon by finding map pieces to locate the Necronomicon and Kandarian dagger, with them they can then take on the demon and remove its evil from the world. The demon player will be on the defensive and protect the demonic artefacts by any means necessary using demonic powers from possession to using Deadites to stop them in their tracks or summoning champions to make sure they’re not getting back up. If you are unfamiliar with the Army of Darkness film, it involves the Evil Dead protagonist Ash Willaims being sent to medieval times to take on more Deadites. It’s no shock that Saber Interactive has decided that their first new map would be based on this adventure. The map features locations like the infamous Castle Kandar, Arthurian Outpost, the Windmill, Fort Gort and Castle’s Keep (location of the Necronomicon). Be on the lookout for map-themed vehicles and possibly Ash’s converted Oldsmobile.

Alongside new locations, we will also be getting new weapons added to the game. For someone who likes getting up close and personal, look no further than the new medieval-style mace, and for the ranged enthusiast, the new explosive crossbow can satisfy that itch for both death from afar and a spectacular multi-kill.

Do you feel like your regular attire has gotten old when commanding your skeleton army? If yes then the Medieval Bundle ($7.99 and is available for Season Pass 1 holders) will put a smile on that boney expression with the new Gilded attire premium outfit for the Necromancer class, the battle prep outfit for Lord Arthur and the Scottish Vibe outfit for Henry the Red. Alongside the new bundle, the pre-order skins ($2.99 each) that were unavailable for purchase have become available, now players can represent their love for S-Mart and Knight suit up for battle in the new update.

Finally, Saber Interactive has unleashed a new game mode titled Exploration mode, which lets players explore the three maps on their own. Evil Dead: The Game doesn’t have much for single-player options but with the new mode allowing players to free roam around the maps and take on the deadly inhabitants, could this be a sign of more single-player content for the future of the game. We’ll have to wait and see what Saber Interactive has in store for us all on the long road ahead.
