Star Trek: Resurgence Announced by Former Telltale Devs

Dramatic Labs, composed of many former Telltale devs, has announced Star Trek: Resurgence. The new game is a story-driven adventure heavily focused on player choice and narrative. This is rather reminiscent of some of the games Telltale was known for.

Former Telltale devs have announced the story-driven project, Star Trek: Resurgence. The title was announced during The Game Awards 2021. It is being developed by the brand new studio, Dramatic Labs. The team is composed of over 20 former Telltale developers. Star Trek Resurgence is a very story-driven experience focusing on player choice, similar to many of the games Telltale made. The game’s original story takes place shortly after the events of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Two protagonists aboard the U.S.S. RESOLUTE must solve a mystery. The stakes are high, as the prospect of a galactic war looms on the horizon. As a result, solving the mystery is of vital importance in order to prevent the flames of war from erupting. Those working on the game include the former creative director, lead writer, and cinematic director from Telltale. Star Trek: Resurgence is set to arrive on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 & 5, and Epic Games store in Spring 2022.

Dramatic Labs was founded by Kevin Bruner, who was also a co-founder of Telltale. The Star Trek: Resurgence developers have also said that players will encounter both new and returning characters during their adventure.

“Star Trek: Resurgence is an interactive narrative video game that tells an original story set in the era shortly after the events of Star Trek: The Next Generation.”
