The trailer features a full uncut and unedited three or so minutes of Turf War gameplay. From what is seen, the game already looks very polished and ready for release in a few months’ time. In Splatoon 3, it looks like we can expect the usual chaos and fun as seen in the first two games.
Splatoon 3 will be released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. It will be set in the Splatlands, a desert occupied by the Inklings and Octolings (the good guys and bad guys), with the city of Splatsville at the heart of it. Along with the return of Turf Wars, there will be new moves for players to pull off, as well as a new bow-shaped weapon in which players can sling ink. There’s even a new Crab Tank that players can use in battle. Salmon Run, the co-op mode from Splatoon 2, will also return with new features.
Splatoon 3 will also feature a story mode. You will join Agent 3 in a fight against the Octarians, where you’ll discover the secrets of Alterna, the Fuzzy Ooze, and how they connect to the “Return of the Mammalians”. Details on Splatoon 3‘s story mode were revealed last September.
Splatoon 3 is now available to pre-order for $59.99/£49.99.
