Splatoon 3 Set for September Release

Splatoon 3 was announced a while ago, but now it's been confirmed that the game will release in September 2022, providing there are no delays. A new trailer has also been dropped along with the release date announcement, to get fans hyped for the new title by showcasing its gameplay.

Splatoon 3 Set for September ReleaseWe already know that Splatoon 3 is going to happen. The game was revealed about a year ago by Nintendo. They originally stated that Splatoon 3 was in development and slated for a 2022 release. Fast forward to over a year, and now not only do we have a new trailer, but also an official release date. It’s not a vague release time either, but a specific date. It’s confirmed that Splatoon 3 will release on September 9th, 2022.

The trailer features a full uncut and unedited three or so minutes of Turf War gameplay. From what is seen, the game already looks very polished and ready for release in a few months’ time. In Splatoon 3, it looks like we can expect the usual chaos and fun as seen in the first two games.

Splatoon 3 will be released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. It will be set in the Splatlands, a desert occupied by the Inklings and Octolings (the good guys and bad guys), with the city of Splatsville at the heart of it. Along with the return of Turf Wars, there will be new moves for players to pull off, as well as a new bow-shaped weapon in which players can sling ink. There’s even a new Crab Tank that players can use in battle. Salmon Run, the co-op mode from Splatoon 2, will also return with new features.

Splatoon 3 will also feature a story mode. You will join Agent 3 in a fight against the Octarians, where you’ll discover the secrets of Alterna, the Fuzzy Ooze, and how they connect to the “Return of the Mammalians”. Details on Splatoon 3‘s story mode were revealed last September.

Splatoon 3 is now available to pre-order for $59.99/£49.99.
