The E3 2017 showcase demo of the upcoming new Spider-Man game left a section of gamers concerned about some aspects of the game's gameplay. Specifically, many seemed to be concerned that QTEs would be used heavily throughout the game at the expense of free roaming and manual combat. Reading the growing concern, Insomniac took to twitter to explain further the nature of Spider-Man's gameplay. They had the following to say regarding the set piece shown at E3,

So it appears that QTEs will be part of some blockbuster moments but free roaming will be the major mainstay of the gameplay. Insomniac also confirmed that the game will include secondary missions and alternate challenges. New third person open-world Spider-Man has a release window of 2018 and will release exclusively on the PS4.
