Spider-Man No Way Home Broke the Record for the Most Watched Trailer in 24 Hours

The teaser trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home has broken the record for the most-watched trailer in 24 hours. Globally, it has been viewed 355,500,000 times. It is also the most talked-about trailer with 4,500,000 conversations. The previous record-holder was Avengers: Endgame which had 289 million views, showing that Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe just keeps getting bigger and bigger with no sign of slowing down.

Therefore, it is clear that the hype for Spidey’s universe-colliding adventure is through the roof. With the crossover of characters from the Sam Raimi Spider-Man universe as well as those from the more recent Amazing Spider-Man series, the film is set to do something which has never been seen before. The teaser confirms the return of Spider-Man 2’s Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina) and Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin and hints towards the potential return of Jamie Foxx’s Electro, Thomas Hayden Church’s Sandman, Rhys Ifans’ Lizard, and Charlie Cox’s Daredevil.

SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME - Official Teaser Trailer (HD)

The multiverse shattering events seem to have been caused by Peter’s (Tom Holland) desire to cover up his identity. At the end of Far From Home, the villain Mysterio exposed Peter as Spider-Man and framed him for his death. Now with Pete’s life in turmoil and his friend and family in danger, he goes to Doctor Strange to see if he can cast a spell to make everyone forget. However, his interference causes things to go wrong and thus chaos ensues. Although, it’s worth noting that often trailers mislead fans to conceal plot twists, and many fans have begun speculating already.

The long wait for a trailer could be another reason why the teaser for No Way Home broke the record. The film is set to be released in just four months (17th December) but we’ve had nothing official until now, apart from the title announcement. The rumours, however, have been going wild for months, leading to high expectations.
