Spider-Man: Miles Morales Footage Shows First Boss Battle

Game Informer has a month-long line of coverage for the standalone adventure with your neighborhood friendly superhero. Things are kicking off as we got glorious 4K footage (seen below) of Spider-Man: Miles Morales with new gameplay that shows the first boss with Rhino.

The supervillain is not the only familiar face in the video. Accompanying the new protagonist is his mentor, Peter Parker, the OG Spider-Man. While we miss the context due to the editing, Peter and Miles try to stop a plane from crashing, which leads to the destruction of a convoy carrying the antagonist who featured in Peter’s solo story from two years ago. It cuts to give a glimpse at some parts of the battle between the novice wall-crawler and the beefy baddie. The fight does not show Peter, so we are unsure where he swung off to during Miles’ first big brawl.

While we will see plenty of new faces, like from the previous footage we have seen, like from the last PS5 event, we may see more familiar ones if this is any indication. For now, it seems that the Tinkerer will be the central foe for the new superhero. The villain will lead a faction called the Underground, which rivals Roxxon Energy Corporation.

Roxxon is a seemingly normal company, but like real-world corporations, it is involved with plenty of corruption and pollution, just stepped up to meet the standards set by superbeings like Rhino and Tinkerer.

While this standalone game is set to be roughly in the 10-hour playtime, we hope to see other appearances from super baddies.
