SpatialOS Creators improbable Games hire ex bioware head
The SpatialOS project was created by Improbable Games, their mission is to build the impossible, and with two new locations opening in Edmonton and London, they have the means to do so. To back them up on those dreams, the ex-general manager of Bioware Aaryn Flynn has taken up the same role in the Edmonton branch. Aaryn Flynn has held that prestigious position from 2015-2017, overseeing development of highly successful titles like Dragon Age, SWTOR, and even Mass Effect.

This is what he had to say:

“I was interested in making a game using SpatialOS from the very first time I spoke to Improbable. Building tools and content has been a great way for our Edmonton team to master SpatialOS, but a full game was always an opportunity myself and others had in mind as the Edmonton studio took shape. Now, after a lot of great hires and great progress, we’re going to focus on creating that game using Unreal Engine 4 and building on SpatialOS’ next-generation online games platform.”

It seems the company will be pairing up with Epic Games Unreal Engine 4, to create an unannounced project. On a different continent, the London branch is being led by John Wasilczyk, an ex-Epic Games employee. Learn more about the company at this years GDC where they will be hosting two panels.
