Sony’s State of Play may not have lasted as long as fans would’ve wanted as it was limited to just 30 minutes, but it certainly delivered the goods!

With games such as Final Fantasy VII Remake, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time and Five Nights at Freddy‘s making an appearance, it was a packed show.

But let’s take things from the start. The show kicked off with Naughty Dog’s trademark marsupial, as a trailer for Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time on PlayStation 5 with updated visuals at a steady 60 fps was shown. It was also announced that a new story would be added to the platformer, taking Crash’s adventure with Neo Cortex even further.

Another game that definitely left quite an impression was Returnal, Housemarque’s rogue-like third-person shooter that, as seen from its latest new trailer, will contain strong psychological thriller elements. The game is expected to be released on April 30.

We also learned the launch date of another highly anticipated title during Sony’s State of Play, as Ember Lab’s Pixar-esque action-adventure game Kena: Bridge of Spirits will be coming this August 24. The game also received a new trailer, with its visuals looking as stunning as ever.

We got an update on two other upcoming titles. For one, Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach had a trailer and will be released sometime this year. Secondly, Oddworld Soulstorm will hit PlayStation consoles on April 6, with PS Plus subscribers getting their updated PS5 version free of charge.

Of course, as is usually the case during these events, the best was saved for last as one of last year’s greatest titles Final Fantasy VII Remake will be getting a downloadable episode. It will focus on one of the two unlockable characters from the original game, Yuffie Kisaragi of Wutai and her exploits in Midgar during the events of the Remake. Finally, it was announced that the game will also be ported to PS5 with upgraded visuals, a normal/classic mode that will give RPG enthusiasts a greater challenge and a photo mode. Both the DLC and the PS5 version will become available on June 10, in what is now called Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade.
