Sonic Origins Plus Is on the Way, Bringing Amy as a Playable Character

As announced on the official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account, Sonic Origins Plus is coming. Bringing Amy as a brand new, playable character, even more classic Sonic games, and some bonus features. If you’re a fan of the blue blur, this is one collection you’ll want to look out for.

Releasing on June 23rd 2023, Sonic Origins Plus will not only come with the base game of Sonic Origins. It’ll bring 12 classic Sonic Game Gear titles, including Dr Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine and Sonic Chaos. As well as this, Amy Rose will be a fully playable character in all original Sonic Origins games. This includes Sonic 1, 2, 3 & Knuckles and CD. Additionally, Knuckles will be playable on CD, unlike in the initial 2022 version of the video game.

Back when Sonic Mania was released, players called for the addition of Amy Rose as a playable character. When she wasn’t added, people were quite disappointed. Upon Sonic Origins‘ initial release, fans once again hoped that Amy would make it into the game, however, unfortunately, she didn’t make the cut. Having seen the demand for the pink hedgehog to make an appearance in a remade classic Sonic game, SEGA clearly wanted to give the players what they wanted.
