A Sonic Mania + Team Sonic Racing Switch Bundle has been spotted on Amazon. The discovery first made by GoNintendo features both games being sold together in the single pack. However, there are no details at present if the games will feature on a single cartridge.
Originally releasing in 2017, Sonic Mania was a 2D Side-scrolling platformer by PagodaWest Games and Headcannon. The game is a return to the series’ roots and sees Sonic and his friends racing through twelve levels to defeat the evil Dr. Robotnik, or Dr. Eggman if you are under the age of 20. The game features multiple playable characters, including Sonic, Knuckles and Tails. Additionally, 2018’s Sonic Mania Plus sees classic characters Mighty and Ray joining the cast of playable characters.
Releasing in 2019 Team Sonic Racing is a 3D Kart Racing game by Sumo Digital and sees Sonic and his friends racing through twenty-one levels trying to defeat the evil Dr. Eggman, or Dr. Robotnik if you are over the age of 25. This game requires players to work as a team, sharing power-ups, helping each other to get a better finishing spot, etc. For the most part, this game is not too unlike Mario Kart: Double Dash, though without players having to share a kart.
The Sonic Mania + Team Sonic Racing bundle will be releasing on October 26th. At present, there is no listing on any other regional Amazon store; As such, this may not be a full-on rerelease and could well be just a region-specific bundle. In addition to this discovery, there has been a similar listing found for a Switch port of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, which was found listed on Amazon only a few days ago. And with rumours abound that we might finally be seeing a new Nintendo Direct for the first time in almost a year, could we be seeing these two titles getting officially announced soon?
