Skybound Games Releasing A Pile Of Classic RPGs On Consoles
It seems as though a handful of classic RPGs from famed studios Bioware and Black Isle Studios are headed to major consoles this year. Veteran studio, Beamdog, has been working on remastering a flurry of nostalgic PC titles, and it seems Skybound Games is helping send a handful of those games over to the Xbox One, PS4 and Switch.

Those of you pining to return to the glory days of Bioware, or curious to see how impressive the now-closed Black Isle Studios was twenty years ago, this new collection of remasters is exactly what you've been waiting for. Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate II, Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment, Neverwinter Nights and the expansion to Baldur's GateSiege of Dragonspear — are all expected to hit consoles later this year.

"These games are iconic, including Baldur’s Gate, which has really set the standard for Dungeons & Dragons computer roleplaying games(…)We’re excited to bring Beamdog’s incredible slate to new platforms for both the dedicated fan and those who will soon discover these adventures for the first time." — CEO Ian Howe, Skybound Games

The deal between the two companies — Beamdog and Skybound Games — was just announced today in order to bring these Dungeons and Dragons classics over to consoles. There's no word of any more releases on the horizon with the partnership, but this is a pretty solid way to start off a relationship.

There has yet to be any official statement regarding when any of these ports will arrive on consoles, but we do know they are all confirmed to appear on the PS4, Xbox One and Switch. Baldur's Gate on the go, anyone?
