Mortal Kombat 11‘s first post-launch DLC character, the soul-stealing sorcerer Shang Tsung, is now available to owners of the game’s Kombat Pack. The DLC bundle was included in the game’s $99 Deluxe Edition and can be purchased separately for $39.99. Those who would prefer to purchase Shang Tsung à la carte will be able to do so next week, although WB Games and NetherRealm Studios have not announced pricing for individual DLC characters.
Kombat Pack owners should be able to download the character fairly easily through their platform’s digital marketplace, but for those who run into difficulties, WB Games has provided a helpful guide on its support website. In addition to Shang Tsung, the Kombat Pack includes the following DLC:
- Two unannounced guest characters
- Seven exclusive character skins
- Seven new sets of gear
This version of Shang Tsung features the voice and likeness of Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, who played the character in the series’ 1995 film adaptation. His inclusion in the game was announced at the Mortal Kombat 11 reveal event, which was held back in January. He was revealed as a DLC character at C2E2 two months later.
We reviewed Mortal Kombat 11 when it launched, and even though we had some issues with the game’s progression system, we still found it to be “one of the best fighting games in the last few years, as well as possibly the best Mortal Kombat game in the last decade.”
