With gaming's biggest season starting, September is a launch pad from which many highly anticipated games will finally release. Destiny 2, Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite and Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony are all slated to come out next month, after all.
Without further ado, here are our top picks for PlayStation Plus games for the month of September.
Wolfenstein: The New Order
Though this game's sequel won't be coming until October, offering Wolfenstein: The New Order for PlayStation Plus members could prove an efficient means of garnering a lot of support come time for Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus. If Bethesda doesn't feel so generous, it could offer The Old Blood as a compromise. Either way, offering some kind of incentive to get the shooter sequel isn't too out of the question.
Knack
If there was any chance of us getting Knack via PlayStation Plus, September 2017 would be it. With Knack 2 dropping next month, Sony would be doing itself a disservice in not offering the action platformer with its subscription platform.
Danganronpa
Though NIS games aren't frequently featured in PS Plus lineups, next month would be a great time to capitalize on the service. With Danganronpa V3 coming out – the purported last entry in the series, mind you – Spike Chunsoft's first or second entries in the series (or both) would make wonderful treats for gamers on the brink of immersing themselves in the franchise. It's time to show everyone what exactly all the hype is about. Best of all, each game is available on both the PlayStation 4 and Vita, meaning NIS has a choice of platform, too.
Nidhogg
With Nidhogg 2 releasing in August, the sequel's sales are undoubtedly slowing down, if only just a little. To prevent a significant standstill, developer Messhof might consider making the original Nidhogg free for PlayStation Plus subscribers for the month of September. Not only will this cement the sequel at the forefront of everyone's mind, but it will help future-proof it against the onslaught of AAA experiences coming later in the year.
Destiny
Destiny is admittedly the most far-fetched entry on this list, but with Destiny 2 coming out very soon, Bungie and Activision might be willing to reach as many interested parties as possible. Making the original game Plus' main title for September will bring it even more publicity, which is something I'm sure the franchise isn't shy of at this point.
