Through a blog post from Activision today that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will receive an update this fall. The update will include new modes and features to the 2019 action-adventure game to celebrate its lifetime sales of over five million copies.
Reflection of Strength and Gauntlet of Strength are new modes that will test players against previously defeated bosses. Sculptor’s Idols opens up a moment of reflection for the Wolf, allowing for you to rematch various boss battles. This is meant to prepare players for the Gauntlet, which is a single-life challenge of the Reflections.
New cosmetics are coming, so you can go on the Wolf’s adventure in style. Two of the outfits were announced, Tengu and Old Ashina Shinobi, which are unlocked through the Gauntlet. The mysterious third costume is unlocked by beating the game.
Remnants are a new social feature where you can record a 30-second clip for others in the community to see. Leave the video with or without a message to show off your skills or fails. If someone sees it and rates it, then you will be given a free heal.
Sekiro received not only plenty of sales but accolades and positive reviews too. At the Game Awards, the samurai game took home the award for Game of the Year and Best Action/Adventure Game. In our review, we said that it “lives up to the legacy of director Hidetaka Miyazaki past games, both in spirit and in quality.”
You can play this update for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice on October 29 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
