Earlier this week, Sony surprised Playstation owners with an early announcement that Call of Duty: WWII would be one of June’s free downloadable games via Playstation Plus. It wouldn’t be too soon until we found out what else would be accompanying it. It’s a good month for fans of shooters as Star Wars Battlefront 2 has been confirmed as the second game you’ll be able to download for free as long as you’re a Playstation Plus subscriber.
Most people will be aware of Star Wars Battlefront 2 due to its controversial launch back in 2018, but the game has come on leaps and bounds since then. The developers have even addressed the loot box controversy and have adapted them accordingly. Loyal fans have been so impressed that a petition was making the rounds a couple of weeks ago calling for DICE to continue supporting the game when they announced they were working on other projects.
Some fans may be disappointed as Sony are offering two fairly similar experiences, but both game are pretty good offerings after the previous lacklustre month. Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be available to download on June 2nd and Call of Duty: WWII is available to download right now. Both games will be free for Playstation Plus subscribers up until July 6th, so make sure to grab them while they’re free.
