The Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla release date has leaked, maybe.

Amazon has a bad rap for leaking the release dates of games, unannounced or otherwise. We now have a possible release date for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, curtesy of Amazon Italy. A Reddit user happened upon the game’s store page which shows a release date of October 15. This date has since been replaced by a regular holding date of December 31 – A date used to signify the release of a game coming out sometime this year, that hasn’t been given a specific release date. The Redditor, AssassinsCrypt was quick to snap a screenshot of the store page showing the Xbox One version. The info is naturally in Italian, but it doesn’t take a fluent speaker to translate the date.

What Does This Mean For The Next-Gen Consoles?

AC: Valhalla will explore the four kingdoms of Anglo-Saxon England, plus parts of Norway.

Though my excitement for the next instalment in the franchise is significant, it shares a connection to the release of the next-gen consoles. Many leaks have suggested an October release date for the PS5. AC: Valhalla is a confirmed cross-generation title, so could we be looking at such an early console release date? Perhaps, but it’s also possible we’ll see a staggered release. We expect to see much more of the game over the summer, so we’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, check out everything we know about the game so far.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla explores one of Britain’s most climactic historical events, the Viking invasion of England. As Eivor, you will lead your people from Norway to England, invading and settling the land for your own. Build a thriving settlement, invade foreboding monasteries and interact with Viking culture in a way never explored by video games before.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla is currently available to pre-order on PS4, Xbox One and PC
