A local American newspaper wrote a news report about a film crew in Montana making a live action trailer for a game set in the Old West. Assumptions that it would be for Red Dead Redemption 2 were dismissed by the presence of a Ubisoft producer and most of the crew speaking French.
The report also stated that the game in question is an already established global franchise, and while this could also mean Assasins Creed, it is unlikely due to its ancient Egypt setting.
The conclusion that it is in fact for a Far Cry sequel comes from a poll that Ubisoft did, asking the fans in what time period and setting would they like for the next game in the franchise to take place, and you guessed it, one possible answer was: "A game in the Spaghetti Western style set in the 19th century Americas".
