In an interview with Collider, Capcom's Resident Evil developer Hiroyuki Kobayashi, recently shared some news on the status of the upcoming Resident Evil 2 remake. The remake surprisingly skipped E3 2017 altogether. Now Capcom is very concise when asked about the remake. All they say is as follows,
The only thing I can tell you is about something that's already out in the public. Resident Evil 2, a remade version, the game, will be out from Capcom soon.
It's hard not to ponder what "soon" might mean. Skipping E3 2017 where they could have shown some footage of this "soon" to be released game is very telling. "Soon" might be referring to 2018 at the earliest in this case. Yet, this year still has other gaming conferences, so something of the game may yet be shown in 2017. Let's hope so.
Do our readers think that Resident Evil 2 Remake will release on 2017 or 2018? Let us know below.
I get the feeling we will hear something soon too.
Outside of a few key titles, like Marvel vs Capcom and Monster Hunter Worlds, Capcom was pretty quiet at E3. We might get to hear more in another conference/show in September/October in regards to more of their games.
Let us hope so. At least a trailer for the remake should have been shown at E3. Unless this is another resident evil 1 remake style, they made a big mistake in nothing anything.
