PS5 Games to be Announced ‘Soon’

Sony's CEO has confirmed we will get an announcement "soon" on when we will see PS5 games. So far the company has been quiet with a few exceptions like its tech showcase with Mark Cerny, the controller reveal, and the recent demo created by Epic Games using Unreal Engine 5.

PS4 games, possible PS5 games as sequels

Sony has been quiet on its upcoming console while Microsoft has been doing the opposite. Sony President and CEO Kenichiro Yoshida has confirmed that we will finally hear about PS5 games ‘soon.’

Speaking about corporate strategy, Yoshida goes into how the company will give details on its “strong lineup of PS5 games” in the near future, as reported by Bloomberg

“The launch of PlayStation®5, scheduled for the holiday season of this calendar year, will deliver even more immersive experiences on a game console,” reads the statement. “Higher speed, enhanced sensory perceptions generated by its revolutionary controller, and sound delivered in 3D audio will combine to realize truly next generation console game experiences unlike anything before.”

Including with the plans to give us a look at its upcoming games, the company announced Sony Interactive Entertainment President and CEO Jim Ryan will now Senior Executive Vice President of Sony Corp.

Outside of these upcoming PS5 games, we only have seen an overlook at the tech behind the console, its controller, and a recent demo featuring Unreal Engine 5. It is unclear if what we will be shown will be existing IP like a sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn or Marvel’s Spider-Man or something brand new.
