Sony will releasee its latest update for the PS4 system software, version 4.50. Included in the update are social upgrades, smartphone app and remote play enhancements, as well as improved visuals and stability for PSVR and PS4 Pro.
Communication updates are for those who use the Playstation mobile app or Remote Play. After the update, anyone using Remote Play will be able to communicate through voice chat, signified by a microphone icon on the bottom of the screen. Along with some menu upgrades for the Playstation App, there is now a specific setting that can show your friends that you are signed into PSN, but are also on your smartphone and not your console.
Those using Playstation VR might have noticed poor resolution when going to the PS4 Home Screen, but this update aims to improve the resoultion. On top of that, Cinematic Mode framerate increases to 120Hz if your screen is set to the Small or Medium setting.
The biggest highlight from this update, however, is for owners of the Playstation 4 Pro. There have been games that provide PS4 Pro patches, increasing performance compared to standard or slim PS4 models. Now, Boost Mode is added to give framerate boosts to some games that are not patched for PS4 Pro support.
