Pokémon UNITE Releases on Switch July 21, Get Zeraora for a Limited Time

The world of Pokémon finally meets strategic team battle systems. Pokémon UNITE features 5-v-5 arena fights against opponents and wild Pokémon, with the goal of strengthening your team enough to evolve. Whichever team accumulates the most points at the end of the match wins.

In a new launch date video, The Pokémon Company announced that the Nintendo Switch version of the title will arrive on July 21, 2021. A mobile version will also be released sometime in September.

For a limited time, players can receive a Unite license to receive Zeraora, a Mythical Electric-type Pokémon first seen in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. In the announcement, The Pokémon Company described Zeraora’s abilities:

Zeraora can close the distance between itself and its opponents in the blink of an eye, just like lightning, and deal massive amounts of damage all at once. Its Unite Move, Plasma Gale, sends out a powerful electric blast that creates a zone of plasma around the area where the blast hits.

Players can obtain the Unite license by downloading and logging into the game by 14:59 PM UTC Tuesday, August 31, 2021, via the in-game mail system. If you miss this window, Zeraora can be obtained by completing special missions that have yet to be determined.
