PlayStation Plus Games For October Revealed

September's almost over and October is around the corner, PlayStation has revealed what's to come on the Essential tier and above for PlayStation Plus. Return to Netherrealm's superhero fighting series, take on a strategic indie FPS, and race with classic toy cars in a fantastic arcade racing sim.

PlayStation Plus Games for October revealedWith September almost coming to a close, it’s that time for the reveal of October’s freebies for PlayStation Plus. In September we were given an adequate lineup of Need For Speed Heat and Granblue Fantasy: Versus for PlayStation 4 and TOEM for PlayStation 5. This month’s lineup gives us bigger games from the last few years but unlike September’s games, all three are available for PlayStation 4 users. 

PlayStation Plus subscribers have until October 3 to claim September’s freebies before the new lineup arrives. October’s PlayStation Plus games will run until October 31. Lets us take a look at what October has in store for PlayStation Plus.

Hot Wheels Unleashed (PS4/PS5)

Take control of iconic vehicles from the Hot Wheels universe in the arcade racing sim Hot Wheels Unleashed. Prove your skills by competing in awesome races involving drifting, charging the booster and launching yourself into spectacular loops. After racing, use what you’ve unlocked in the online modes and the track editor. Let your imagination run wild when creating tracks in the editor, building creative courses inside and outside the editor. Afterwards, show off your creations to the world and try out other players’ creations. Hot Wheels Unleashed lets players compete with friends in local two-player split-screen or online with up to 12 players. Race up the orange loops in glorious fashion this October with PlayStation Plus.

Super Hot (PS4)

Plunge into a world of white and red in the chaotic strategy game Super Hot, where time moves when you do. You get one chance with no health bars, ammo packs or weapons to start with. With each level, you use whatever is available to you to defeat the numerous red individuals in beautiful slow-motion shootouts. Injustice 2 (PS4)

The sequel to the hit DC universe fighting game from the developers of Mortal Kombat comes to PlayStation Plus in October. Injustice 2 continues the story of the twisted universe where Superman became a tyrant alongside other iconic heroes and supervillains. This time around the two sides will need to put their differences aside to defeat the sudden invasion of the evil Brainiac. Customise each member of the roster with a mass amount of different earnable gear with different stats increasing the power of your characters.

Play as Iconic characters from the first game including new members like Supergirl, Swamp Thing, Blue Beetle, Firestorm and Scarecrow to say a few. Play local or online to earn gear and reputation, or take on the multiverse where numerous different ladders are available. Take on Brainiac and Superman in Injustice 2 this October with PlayStation Plus.

In regards to the Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus, no news has been released. However, it has been said that news of what games will be coming to the service will be coming next month.
