Persona 5 sells big on Day 1 in Japan

The newest entry in the acclaimed JRPG franchise sold big according to reports online. Selling through 70% of its original shipment in Japan, the game is currently in line with Sega's sales projections of hitting 500,000 copies sold within the first month.

According to reports online, developer Atlus' highly anticipated JRPG Persona 5 has sold through 70% of its original shipment in Japan, marking the publisher's sales expectations for the game in line with actual sales numbers.

Persona 5 was released for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in Japan on September 15 to high praise. It will release in North America and Europe on February 14.
