There’s a new legendary skin announced and it’s a tribute to pro-player Bang “Jjonak” Sunghyeon. Jjonak is a member of the New York Excelsior team and the 2018 Overwatch League’s MVP. In recognition of his title, he became the first pro-player to have a skin attributed to him. The skin itself features the pro-player’s favorite animal, an octopus, as a motif. In fact, his in-game name is a shorter version of “jjomullak nakji”, which roughly translates from Korean to “fumbling octopus”. Additionally, the South Korean prodigy has always declared his sympathy for all kinds of sea creatures.
Overall, it has Zenyatta in New York Excelsior colors, and his orbs replaced by little baby octopi. When the skin was unveiled, Sunghyeon and his team were invited to Blizzard HQ to meet with the team. Upon looking at the final result, Jjonak expressed how seeing the skin motivated him to become the league’s MVP once again.
Furthermore, Overwatch League website posted a blog on the skin and its construction. The skin will be available for a limited time starting on June 27 until July 14, a few days after Stage 3 of the 2019 OWL Season comes to a close. The price of the skin will be 200 tokens, which can be bought for around $10.
