Overwatch has dropped its Lunar New Year 2022 event, and players were quick to notice the lack of new content this time around. Merely featuring two new legendary skins this year for Mercy and Tracer compared to the usual seven or so. Needless to say, fans were not pleased.
When people took to the forums to share their frustration, Community Manager AndyB quickly commented on the situation. They assured the community that the team are hard at work on brand new content and that the Overwatch Team plan to release more skins than ever before throughout the year.
Just recently did Microsoft announce that they would be acquiring Activision Blizzard. This no doubt raised players’ expectations for its in-game events. The date on which the deal should be complete, however, is sometime in Summer 2023. This is past the time that players are expecting Overwatch 2 to be officially released.
Along with the Overwatch Lunar New Year 2022 patch, Mercy received a strange buff. This allows her to resurrect fallen allies who have died due to environmental reasons where their ‘soul’ becomes stuck on a surface rather than falling to the ground. Players have pointed out how useless the change is. Resurrecting an ally who has died in this way will almost always kill them in the same way again.
