Overwatch 2 PVP Gameplay To Be Shown Next Week Cover

Aaron Keller gave his first developer update today regarding Overwatch 2 PVP and how it will be evolving. Keller focused on the title’s core game mode and announced an upcoming live stream event on May 20th. Next week, the development team and Overwatch League teams will be playing the sequel on its new maps to discuss and update players on how PVP is coming along. For an entire year, the development team went silent on the awaited sequel announced back at BlizzCon 2019. At BlizzConline 2021, an extensive presentation was shown, revealing how far along the sequel was. We got to see some new looks to our favourite heroes, new maps, prototypes of reworked kits and even more of the PVE side of things. It was something to keep its fanbase going. 

Recently, Jeff Kaplan left Blizzard Entertainment, leaving Keller to take the position of Lead Director of Overwatch, and he vowed to keep us updated on the next game. As promised, another opportunity to see what the team has been working on has arisen. The developer update titled “What’s Next?” not only details the upcoming May 20th event but also touches on a developer AMA that is to be hosted on May 24th on the game’s subreddit to discuss the past five years of development.
