Outriders to Arrive on Xbox Game Pass Upon Release

Outriders will be purchasable for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC - but it will also be available for Xbox Game Pass on day one. In other words, you do not need to buy the game itself to play it straight away. After being delayed to 2021, Outriders will finally arrive on April 1.

Originally slated for 2020, then pushed back to 2021 due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Outriders is set to release on April 1 (no, this is not an April Fool’s joke). What makes this release interesting, however, is that Outriders will release on Xbox Game Pass upon launch. Since Xbox Game Pass is a subscription-based library system, you do not need to pay full price to play it right off to bat. As long as you pay a monthly fee, you can freely play Outriders and a wide selection of other games such as No Man’s Sky, Yakuza 0, and as of recent, a slew of Bethesda titles due to Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda

Developed by People Can Fly and published by Square Enix, Outriders is a class-based looter shooter akin to Borderlands and Destiny 2. It features four classes with distinct weapons and abilities – the time-warping Trickster, the fiery Pyromancer, the brawling Devastator, and the distant Technomancer.

A demo for the game is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. In addition, the full game will feature cross-play between platforms.
