He said that the Square Enix studio had a good relationship with Nintendo during the development of Bravley Default and Bravely Second. That is when the development phase of Ocopath Traveler began, quite a while before the Nintendo Switch.

More interestingly, Takahashi stated that there will be no new game plus feature in the game and that if the player wishes to go beyond the 50-60 hour campaign and complete all the side stories, dungeons etc. the game could take between 80-100 hours to beat.

In addition, he stated that there was no planned DLC, replying, "The retail version is a complete game."  A lot of work looks to have been put in the game, and it will come out on the Nintendo Switch on July 13, 2018.
