Despite Nintendo’s attempt at fixing a faulty update, the Switch’s latest patch remains in a buggy state.
Version 12.0.3 was meant to give the hybrid console its needed stability fixes, as the changelog implies. Like any other update, the latest patch contains not just only improvements but also unintended issues. Specifically, as per Redditor PhazonJim, an error with the code “2123-1502”.
Initially, the technical trouble hassled users through connection issues as well as trouble with fresh micro-SD cards. Both issues of which significantly affecting those who are heavily reliant on the console’s online feature. In particular, digital users source their games directly from the eShop and use additional storage for their downloads.
Nintendo, for its part, understood the concern, causing it to pull the update from circulation mere hours post-launch. Then, only to place the same update live back again—but still to remain with a similar network issue.
Nintendo has set up a page with the goal of addressing the issue, specifically. Options range from being persistent in resuming downloads, clearing cache, establishing network connection anew, using a different DNS, etc. It is worth noting, however, that not all method is guaranteed to work, based on varying user reports. Even the support page itself is not ruling out that possibility and would then encourage users to simply wait it out. That is, in order to try any procedure again.
