Nintendo Reveals Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Kirby is back in an all-new 3D adventure! Nintendo's Kirby and the Forgotten Land reveal trailer shows a mysterious new world filled with the ruins of a past civilization. For a decaying world, it sure is bursting with vibrant color!

Nintendo Reveals Kirby and the Forgotten Land

During the latest Nintendo Direct, the company unveiled a brand new Kirby adventure. Kirby and the Forgotten Land takes place in a mysterious new world. Perhaps only Nintendo could portray a post-apocalyptic world in such a vibrant way. However, whether it is post-apocalyptic or not is all a matter of perspective. Those who lived here before might see it that way, but Kirby may think differently. He will embark on his latest adventure in this new world in the Spring of 2022.

The Kirby and the Forgotten Land reveal trailer did not tell us anything about those who lived in this world before. The ruins seem rather Earth-like, though. Kirby’s new 3D adventure has him explore lush environments. As you can see, the ruins of this past civilization explode with bright colors everywhere. This art style is very different from how we usually see ruins presented. Dull grays and browns usually cover almost everything in decayed environments, but not here!

Some of Kirby’s familiar copy abilities are also back in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. He can gain these by inhaling pesky enemies to copy their abilities. These include some of his iconic ones like Sword and Ice. Meanwhile, there are almost certainly some new ones to discover as well. They can be used not just for attacking your enemies, but also to aid in exploration.

The reveal of Kirby and the Forgotten Land was actually partially spoiled hours before the Nintendo Direct. Their Japanese website accidentally posted a page for the game too soon. Naturally, it was quickly taken back down at the time. Meanwhile, Kirby also appeared earlier this summer on a very rare e-Reader card.
