Nintendo Has No Current Plans For Switch 2.0

Nintendo's most recent worldwide success, the Nintendo Switch, will not be receiving any new versions in the near future. The company plans to focus on other related items to the console. Peripherals will be their focus instead.

No Nintendo Switch Upgrades Coming Anytime Soon
The Nintendo Switch has been a gigantic success for Nintendo smashing through multiple sales records for the console and many of it's games as well. The developer plans on creating even more peripherals for the console rather than developing a new or more powerful version. The recent introduction of the Nintendo Labo line of peripherals will be a major focus for the company in 2018 once it releases in April.

This news may come as a shock for fans as both Sony and Microsoft have developed and released more powerful versions of their consoles. Nintendo has had a huge success within the new console's first year alone with titles such as Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild, Splatoon 2 and Super Mario Odyssey. This was all possible without an upgraded system like the PlayStation 4 Pro or Xbox One X.

Currently, the Switch is being stocked more at many retailers which is another primary focus of Nintendo this year. The console is currently the fastest-selling console in U.S. history selling 5 million units within it's first year of release. It has easily beaten the Wii U's sales at the one year mark of 4 million. Nintendo hopes their new peripherals like Nintendo Labo will encourage parents to buy systems for the kids helping to increase sales even further.
