Nintendo has thrown the entire gaming industry for a loop. It suddenly announced that tomorrow at 2pm PT they will be broadcasting a 50-minute long Direct that will include information about many of their existing and upcoming games.

Among these titles will be Super Smash Bros Ultimate, as the Japanese developer themselves confirmed through their announcement, with fans already hard at work speculating who the latest addition to the largely popular brawler will be.

Many seem to think that it’s finally time for Kingdom Hearts protagonist Sora to make his appearance. Others are of the opinion that after the introduction of Sephiroth a few months ago, Square Enix already have their fair share of characters in the game and are betting on a surprise appearance by someone like Crash Bandicoot, Morgana from Persona 5 or Sonic’s best buddy Tails.

In regards to the information on upcoming titles, gamers are hoping that there will be an update from the highly anticipated The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel, which has gone silent after its announcement. Even a small glimpse at this game would be enough to keep its fan base going until the next full trailer is ready to be released.

As for what else can be anticipated from this event, there may be a focus on the Legend of Zelda franchise as a whole. This year celebrates its 35th anniversary, and some believe a number of older titles will be given the remaster and re-release treatment. But, of course, this is Nintendo we’re talking about, so there will always be a few surprises and thankfully we won’t need to wait too long to find out what they will be.

You can watch the show on the Nintendo Direct website or on the company’s channel on YouTube.
