Nexon is a video game development and publishing company founded in 1994, and is headquartered in Seongnam, Gyeonggi, South Korea. As a legitimate pioneer in the world of interactive entertainment software, Nexon has introduced some of the biggest innovations of their industry, such as the very first MMORPG and the first free-to-play game. Given this kind of reputation, expectations were fairly high for their latest title Argent Twilight, a game even speculated to rival Genshin Impact in the realm of free-to-play, action-adventure gacha RPGs.
Argent Twilight was intended to be an epic battle strategy game complete with a vast storyline and captivating graphics. The game’s features would have included raids, challenging dungeons, PvP battles, and plenty of engaging events.
The game was first revealed to be in development back in 2021, then began preregistration and a soft launch in 2022. After months of feedback and multiple internal discussions regarding the game’s future, Nexon had ultimately decided to end the development of Argent Twilight due to its inability to meet quality standards and satisfy their player base.
This means the ending of service, and the cancellation of the intended global release.
#Nexon has stopped development on #ArgentTwilight, its new #gacha #mobile #RPG. To summarize, it had shit results from the #SoftLaunch phase. Having tried the #game, it seems that the team has no clue how to tackle this genre.— MMO Culture (@mmo_culture) January 26, 2023

However, Nexon has stated that the company will use the experience gained from developing Argent Twilight to create a superior game that will satisfy players for sure.
